My first year as a wedding celebrant…what did I learn?

 1.      To be myself – the more I am me, the easier it is to tell your story.

2.      To ask a question and then listen– letting couples tell me all their secrets is one way I can understand them better and tell their story in a way that that is uniquely theirs.

3.      Go meet as many wedding suppliers as I can – these people have been so supportive with me having lots of heart to hearts this year -a truly inspirational bunch

4.      That moment – being part of a couple’s big day is such an honour and being in that conversation when they exchange their vows is INCREDIBLE! I love it!

5.      Helping couples construct their service – it is such a lovely part of this job and involves several stages

·       We have our initial chat and then they book me (fingers crossed!)

·       Then I leave them alone to plan their big day for a bit

·       We meet, usually 3 or 4 months before, usually in a pub or cafe

·       I go away and write something and I poke it across to them

·       We chat about the details, maybe I spend sometime getting them to fine tune bits

·       We agree

·       They get married!

Follow me for more revelations about what I learnt this year -it has been epic and I start again this Saturday at Huntsham Court and cannot wait!
