Meet your Celebrant
Hello there.
My name is Naomi Jane Gribler. I am a whole range of things: a mum, a teacher, a friend, a celebrant, and above all a survivor! Life is often challenging and difficult and I am very experienced in affairs of the heart after a life well lived, years in the classroom and a good listener and teller of stories. One thing that won’t be a challenge is your wedding ceremony with me at the helm. You are bound to be nervous, you are bound to need reassurance and you will need to know that all bases are covered on the most special of special days. Creating a unique ceremony is my job and you will have editorial control throughout, to make sure I tell your love story and develop a ceremony that is just for you. One that you will remember forever.

Handfasting Ceremony
What is a handfasting?
It’s a good question. Traditionally, a Celtic and Pagan symbolic ritual at a wedding that beautifully binds the couple’s hands using specially selected ribbons or cords, that symbolise their commitment to one another. The ribbon can be in any colour combination, usually there are 3 strands - one for each person and one for the onlookers to represent the three elements being tied together on the day. It can also include colours that mean something special to you, match your wedding theme or are symbolic of wider concepts.

“What greater thing is there for two human souls then to feel that they are joined for life — to strengthen each other in all labour, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in silent, unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting?”
George Eliot
What is a Quaich Cup Ceremony?
This is a wonderful mini ritual to have at your wedding and has it’s roots in the Celtic tradition in Scotland. When Clan members gathered for a meeting, the two leaders would take the 2 handles of the cup to drink, thus proving that they weren’t concealing their swords! Everyone would relax and the two leaders would drink together, from the same vessel, again proof that it wasn’t poisoned.
The nice thing about this ceremony, is that you choose the cup and what goes in it. For example, you could choose two types of whisky to blend, or even a gin and tonic! It is again symbolic of blending the two of you together and can also be enjoyed by your immediate family or your wedding party. It is also a symbol of trust and that should be the basis of any good marriage.
